The Perdomo 20th Anniversary Sun Grown is one of the newest releases from veteran cigar maker Perdomo.  The 20th Anniversary Sun Grown was released at the 2012 IPCPR in Orlando, FL.

This Nicaraguan puro features a wrapper that has been aged for 6 years, plus an additional aging that is done inside of bourbon barrels.

This cigar looks great, and has a beautiful looking wrapper.  As with all of the Perdomo lines, the quality with which they are rolled is spot on.  The cigars shape is a slight box-press. The band itself is a very attractive maroon and gold color with a gold “20th Anniversary” stamped on a black background on the bottom.

The burn of this cigar was spot on as well.  One of the things I like about Perdomo is how consistent they are across the board.  Consistent burn an a thick white smoke made this cigar a pleasure to some.

The ash on this cigar was a nice tight white ash that held firm throughout the cigar.  I ashed the cigar about every quarter, primarily because I did not want to ash on myself…which I have a tendency to do.

The flavor of this cigar is excellent.  It has the creaminess that Perdomo is known for, as well as; some spice, floral, and light pepper flavorings.  The spiciness and creaminess continues throughout the cigar.  The pepper flavoring, which is probably a result of the Nicaraguan tobacco, is an excellent touch.

About a quarter way into the cigar, the cigar also picks up a woody sort of oak barrel flavor to it, as well as a slight saltiness on the sides of the tongue.

The grand question, would I buy it again?  You bet.  Box worthy?  Probably.  This cigar is great when you want something that is full flavor, medium strength, but has a little kick to it.  It fits everything I like about a cigar, and I am sure it will be one of many!
