As most of you know, the monster series is a limited edition run that Pete Johnson of Tatuaje does every year for Halloween.  666 coffin boxes and 3,100 regular 10 count boxes of these ghoulish sticks have been released this year.  The coffin boxes are released to 13 “unlucky” retailers.  The Mummy is the fifth release in the monster series.

The look of this cigar is definitely cool.  The cigar is 7 ¾” long with a 47 ring gauge.   The cigar is light to medium in color with a closed foot and triple “wrapped” cap to give it that extra “mummy” touch.  The band is a ghostly white and gray and reads Tatuaje on the front, Monster on one side, and Halloween on the other.

Flavor wise I did pick up some earthy notes, as well as some woody almost cedar notes.  This cigar also had some slight pepper flavorings to it as well.  There were also some bitter and sweet flavors that were picked up while smoking this cigar.

The construction of this cigar was excellent.  As with most of Pete’s stuff, the quality is superb.   The cigar burned fairly evenly, even considering the fact that I was smoking it outside on a fairly windy day.  There was never any need to touch up this mummy.  The ash was a tight grayish white, and was very reminiscent of a mummies bandages.  The smoke was thick and white.

Overall, this is a well-constructed stick based on a really cool Halloween theme.  Would I buy a box?  For collectability purposes, probably yes.  The length of the cigar is too much for me to enjoy on an everyday basis, mainly due to the time involved to smoke such a long cigar.

Smoked it?  Let us know what you thought!
