After a very long and stressful week I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a box sitting outside my door tonight when I arrived home.  I picked it up wondering what it could be since I could not remember ordering anything.  Then I saw the return address, Gary Griffith.  Now for those of you who do not know, Gary Griffith is the brand owner and genius behind Emilio Cigars.  Emilio cigars announced a little while back that they would be distributing Ezra Zion Cigars, and that is how this little treat wound up in my hands.

Now I will admit that I have been quite interested in trying the Ezra Zion cigars.  I have followed them in the social media lines on Twitter, and have taken a gander at their website.  Unfortunately for me, there is no shop in the middle Tennessee area, that I am aware of, that carries them.

The tobacco that is found in these cigars is Nicaraguan, that is bred from 1998 and 1999 Cuban seed.  The tobacco is well aged, and was harvested in 2006 and 2007.

The look of this cigar is pretty cool.  The medium to dark Corojo wrapper is a very attractive and oily wrapper leaf.  The band features a very cool crest with the name of the company, initials, and a pair of winged angels in a very cool black and silver color scheme.  The cigar also features a foot band that reads Inception, Primera Edicion that follows the same color scheme.

Strength wise, this cigar is a good medium body that lingers slightly on the fuller side.  The flavors I am picking up on are cocoa, coffee, a slight leathery taste, and some pepper.  This cigar is very creamy with an almost buttery creaminess to it.

The burn of this cigar was a bit uneven and flawed.  I will take the blame for that since I did take it right out of the box and smoke it.  I imagine that with a day of dry boxing or even just some humidor time, the burn would be much better.  The ash was firm with a decent amount of white smoke present.

So, would I buy it?  Yes.  This is an excellent cigar for when you are wanting to smoke a good medium to full bodied cigar with lots of flavor.
