The new Wynwood Connecticut is a cigar mad by Christian Eiroa of CLE Cigars.  The Wynwood smoke gets its name from the Wynwood district of Miami.  As the story goes, Christian brought over 25 of the top rollers and gave them a new home in Miami, and these are the rollers that make the Wynwood Connecticut. (At least that is what Marcus the general manager at Uptowns told me.  Hey, he got me to buy it!)

The size I purchased for this review was the corona.  I am pairing the cigar this morning with some nice black coffee.

The cigar has a light tan to brown Connecticut wrapper that is very clean looking.  The band that this cigar features has some light pale colors and is yellow, red, black, maroon, and pink.  The band also reads Wynwood and 2012.  The band has a sort of 1970’s look to it.

Flavor wise this cigar started out a bit bitter, but opened very nicely.  I am glad I chose this as a morning smoke because it is very light overall, as is typical of Connecticut wrapped cigars.  The flavors I am picking up on are light woody notes as well as some light citrus.

The burn of this cigar was pretty good overall.  I did have to touch it up twice due to uneven burning.  The smoke on this cigar was thick and white.

Would I smoke it again?  Yes, I can even see this cigar going into my regular breakfast smoke rotation.  The only negatives I found on the cigar are the bitterness at the beginning, which was something Marcus had pointed out as well.  I am assuming that some time in the humidor would probably fix that, as well as the slight burn issues that were present.
