As most people know, I am a fan of smaller cigars.  My typical go to smoke is a corona sized cigar.  The new Papas Fritas from Drew Estate perked my interest when I learned that it was a 4.5 x 44 sized cigar, perfect for my hectic schedule.

The presentation of this cigar is pretty cool.  The cigars come packaged in a wooden box bearing the Liga logo and then the cigars are packaged in metal tins.  The tins come with four cigars each wrapped in cello.

The cigar itself is a work of art.  The Papas Fritas features a pig tail cap along with a simple foot band that hosts the Liga logo and reads PAPAS FRITAS.  The color of the Connecticut broadleaf wrapper is dark almost black with a slight oily sheen to it.

The strength and flavor of this cigar are definitely full.  It is quite the little powerhouse when you fire it up and maintains its strength and flavor throughout the smoke.  Upon lighting I tasted notes of cedar, wood, and some slight cocoa flavorings.  Toward the middle of the cigar I picked up a slight bitterness that enhanced the overall flavor of this cigar.

This cigar burned perfectly even considering the fact that I was smoking it outside in very windy conditions.  The burn was even throughout requiring no touch ups.  The smoke was thick and white.

Would I buy it again?  Yep!  In fact this is an excellent cigar for those quick in between smokes when time is limited.  The only negative was that it is such a good cigar and it does not last long.  On the flip side though, it comes with four!  I plucked the pig tail on the wrapper when I smoked it, so theoretically, you don’t even need a cutter which makes this a very good option for car trips as well.
