For those of you that do not know, I was at one time considered to be a Liga whore.   At the time of the initial Liga #9 release, and for many months following, it was the only cigar I smoked.  Rumor has it I may or may not still have some of the original release sticks hidden away…  Fast forward a few years later and enter the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Series UF-13.  Needless to say I was excited.  I will also once again give thanks to my regional Drew Estate rep Zev Kaminetsky for letting me know which of my local shops would be carrying them.

On to the cigar!  This is where we normally talk about the look of the cigar, but I think for this one, I am going to start with the packaging.  The UF-13 comes packaged in 12 count boxes that are very well done.  Upon opening the box, you are greeted by a Liga Privada logo on the top, and two sections below each with individual cedar sheets with the factory picture printed on them.  These sections each hold 6 cigars and are cutout for each individual cigar.

Ok, now on to the cigar itself.  The Drew Estate Liga Privada UF-13 features a medium to dark colored Connecticut broadleaf wrapper with a nice oily sheen to it.  Probably one of the first things you will notice though is the twisted pig tail cap.  The UF-13 features the standard Liga Privada logo and reads “UF-13.”

Get to the good stuff already, the flavor!  It’s freaking great!  What did you expect?  It’s a Liga!  Upon pre-light smell, I noticed some light ammonia and nutty smells to it.  After the first puff, I knew I was going to enjoy this cigar.  The flavors that I picked up through this smoke were those of pepper, cocoa, and a strong nuttiness.  Much like many of the other Liga lines, there is also a very familiar creaminess present in the UF-13.

The construction of the UF-13 is excellent, the cigar burned evenly throughout the entire smoke with no relights required.  The ash held firm and tight, only falling when I ashed.  Much like the other Ligas, she smoked like a freight train with loads of thick white smoke.

Buy a box?  I already did, without trying them first.  That should tell you a lot since I almost always smoke at least one to check if it will be box worthy.  I may even go buy another box of these tomorrow before they are sold out!  So, yeah, go get some, while you still can.
