The other day I discovered a “new to me” cigar courtesy of my friends over at Big Star Cigar, the Carmelo Primeros.  From what I can tell from my online research, this cigar was released at last years IPCPR trade show.

This cigar has a dark brown wrapper with some light veins and a light oily sheen to it.  The band features a very classic looking picture of two women holding tobacco leaves on it. The colors of the band are blue and gold.  This cigar also comes with a red ribbon foot band.

Flavor wise, this is an excellent cigar.  Upon first lighting the Carmelo Primeros you are greeted by notes of chocolate and coffee.  As the cigar progresses I also picked up on some nutty and leathery notes.

The Carmelo Primeros had an almost perfect burn.   This cigar did require one touch up, but I was smoking it outside on a rather windy and rainy night.  We will chalk that one up to bad smoking weather conditions!

Buy it again?  Well, now that one of my favorite local B&M’s stocks them, I think I will!  I have also had the pleasure of trying another cigar in the Carmelo line and enjoyed it as well.  Good flavors mixed with quality work and care, are what it is all about for me.
