The Rogue is one of the newest cigars to come out of the Gurkha brand.  This newest line is the third release in Gurkha’s, East India Trading Company line.

The Rogue is a box pressed cigar that has a medium colored brown wrapper that almost appears to be “flat” finished.  Eg. Flat finish paint.  The cigar features a double cap and a closed foot.  The band of the Rogue is flat textured white almost like a cardstock finish with a gold skull.  The upper band reads “Rogue” in black, while the secondary band reads “Tyrant”.

Strength wise, this cigar is said to fall into the full category.  Personally, I would say it is more of a medium with some decent pepper notes.  Flavor wise, I detected notes of earthiness, wood notes, as well as the previously mentioned pepper flavorings.  The pepper gradually increased until about the last third of the cigar where it mellowed out.

Construction on the Rogue was overall pretty good, my only complaints would be that I did need to touch it up quite a bit as the burn did not want to remain even., and the draw was a bit tight.  The ash held on fairly decently and the smoke was full and white.’

Buy it again?  Probably not.  I’m not the biggest proponent of pepper flavorings, and the biggest kicker for me would probably be the burn issues.  Should you try it?  Definitely, especially if you are a fan of spicy sticks.
