The Guerrilla Warfare is the second cigar that has been released by cigar company Viva Republica.  The Guerrilla Warfare blend was released at the 2013 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas.  The cigar I am smoking  for this review was purchased locally at The Smoker’s Abbey in East Nashville.

Appearances can often be deceiving, as was the case with this little cigar.  First and most notably was the size.  A 4×41 is a small smoke.   I tend to lean toward smaller ring gauge cigars, so I was excited to try this one.  The cigar itself was medium brown in color, and had some pretty good size veins running through the wrapper leaf.  The best way I could describe the wrapper would be to say it had an unpolished look.  The band was small with a black and neon green color scheme.  Wording read Viva Republica as well as Guerrilla Warfare.

Flavor wise get ready for a kick in the taste buds!  What I said previously about appearances being deceiving, well here it is.  This little stick is a powerhouse!  At first light your taste buds are hit with strong notes of cayenne pepper.  Once your tongue gets with the program and accepts it, it also picks up some very nice wood notes as well as a strong nuttiness that develops more throughout the smoke.  This cigar ends as strong as it began holding a consistent flavor profile throughout.

Burn wise I have no complaints.  Fired it up and it burnt even and steady throughout the entire smoke requiring no touch ups.

Buy it again?  Most likely, I will.  I probably will not buy a box because honestly it’s a bit too much pepper for me.  However, it is a great stick for when you need that little extra jolt to your system.  So if you are a fan of pepper notes in cigars, this is definitely one for you!
