I’m just going to start by saying this is a company that has really impressed me with their cigars. House of Emilio, the distributor for Bodega Premium Blends sent me samples of both the Bodega Reunión Apertivo and the Bodega Reunión Digestivo earlier this year. If you read our review on the Apertivo, you can tell how impressed I was by it. Well, the Digestivo much like its counterpart does not disappoint.

The Bodega Runión Digestivo is available in three different sizes;

-6×52 Toro

-5×54 Double Robusto (the size I am smoking for review)

-5.5×46 Corona Gorda

Packaged in split boxes, purchasers receive a 20 count box with 10 Apertivos’ and 10 Digestivos’. As I mentioned earlier, these cigars really do not disappoint and they compliment each other very nicely. The idea behind the two blends is that the Apertivo is the appetizer or pre meal cocktail and the Digestivo is the after dinner cocktail or liquid desert as I like to say.

Looks: Looks wise this is a very attractive cigar. The first thing that catches my eye on the Bodega Reunión Digestivo is the bright and rich double bands. The bands are purple, white, and silver/chrome in color with the main band reading Reunión over the logo of a tree. The secondary band sports the same colors and reads Digestivo in large lettering with the brand name Bodega underneath. The cigar itself is adorned with a very deep and dark brown Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper. The wrapper leaf has some small veins to it and is finished at the top with a double cap.

Flavor: The flavor in the Bodgea Reunión Digestivo is nothing less than exquisite. Upon first light I am immediately greeted by a strong nuttiness, the slightest bit of pepper on the tip of the tongue, and some dark chocolate notes. About mid way through this cigar, a deep rich wood flavor joins in. At this mid point a certain creaminess also starts to become present and remains throughout the remainder of the smoke. The cigar finishes strong with all of the aforementioned flavors working splendidly together.

Strength: I would put this cigar in the strong medium category.

Burn: The burn of the Bodega Reunión Digestivo was almost perfect and only required one small touch up at the beginning of the smoke. The burn remained even and the smoke was full and white throughout the remainder of the smoke.

Now that I have sampled each blend, the next reasonable thing would be to buy more! My current plans for one evening this following week involve smoking the Apertivo, eating a very fine steak dinner and following up that meal with a Digestivo. So, should you buy it? Do I really need to tell you yes?
