BLACK LABEL TRADING COMPANY ANNOUNCES DELIVERANCE NOCTURNE

BLACK LABEL TRADING COMPANY ANNOUNCES DELIVERANCE NOCTURNE

BLTC Deliverance Nocturne

Black Label Trading Company is pleased to announce the upcoming release of DELIVERANCE NOCTURNE: Hand crafted at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Esteli, Nicaragua; Deliverance Nocturne features a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper and is available in two custom Salomon vitolas.

Deliverance Nocturne will be an addition to the Deliverance line, made throughout the year in small batches with additional vitolas being added.

“Nocturne is a very special cigar. Everything about this line is different for us. The vitolas, the blend style and the wrapper are things we have never done before. I have been working with Pennsylvania tobacco for a while and love its strength and richness. The Pennsylvania tobacco really elevates this cigar to the next level. I wanted something totally different for the vitolas, so we created our own, a slender Salomon with a blunt foot, or what we call a “Snub Nose”. This makes Nocturne a very time consuming cigar to make but these vitolas work perfectly with the blend,” said James Brown, creator of BLTC.

DELIVERANCE NOCTURNE features a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper with Pennsylvania Ligero and Nicaraguan filler & binder.

Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Wrapper: Pennsylvania Broadleaf
Binder: Nicaraguan Habano
Filler: Nicaragua & Pennsylvania
Salomon “Snub Nose” – 6 1⁄4 x 36 x 56 (12 count)
Short Salomon “Snub Nose” – 4 3⁄4 x 40 x 56 (18 count)

Black Label Trading Company is re-defining the standards for cigar making. With a less is more philosophy Black Label Trading Co. creates hand crafted premium cigars of the utmost quality in small batch, limited quantities.

The BLTC DELIVERANCE NOCTURNE will be debuting at IPCPR 2015 in New Orleans with an estimated ship date of Sept. 19th, 2015.

Famous Smoke Shop Announces the Release of Their Newest Exclusive Cigar Carnage

Famous Smoke Shop Announces the Release of Their Newest Exclusive Cigar Carnage

 famous smoke shop carnage

EASTON, PA–(Marketwired – July 29, 2015) – Famous Smoke Shop is a leading online distributor of discounted premium cigars. The company specializes in offering the web’s widest selection of cigars at the lowest prices. Famous has just released a new cigar line under the esteemed Plasencia cigar company. Under the control of master blender and cigar connoisseur Nestor Plasencia, this incredible company is an industry leader in growing the highest quality and most widely used tobaccos in the world. The new release is the highly anticipated Carnage Cigar, and they are exclusively available at Famous Smoke Shop. The first shipment will be arriving at the company’s warehouse very soon, preordering is currently available on their website. The company has expressed that the new brand will be available in limited quantities, but is not a one-time release and will be a consistent offering for the foreseeable future.

The Carnage Cigar is the first release under the new brand’s umbrella, with a new blend designed to provide sophisticated and complex flavors to satisfy every cigar smoker’s taste buds. This blend will be made in small batches and production on the brand will be limited.

Carnage cigars utilize a blend consisting of a complex mixture of Nicaraguan Habano Seco, Viso, and Ligero filler tobaccos, a Honduran Connecticut Talanga binder, and an incredibly flavorful Habano wrapper. The result is a medium strength cigar with complex flavors, with a rich and slightly spicy flavor to round out a customer’s smoke. Already hailed as a home run under the Carnage name, it seems as if this cigar will soon take the industry by storm.

“When you take price into consideration, there’s no comparison. This is the best cigar in this price range. I can easily see this selling for five dollars or more at any retail operation,” said Famous Smoke Shop editor and cigar reviewer Gary Korb. “I’m a huge fan of medium to full bodied cigars, so this is exactly in my wheelhouse. So having smoked plenty of similar cigars, I can say with confidence that this is a cigar I would reach for time and time again. The masterpiece is created through the blender’s solid understanding of how to blend tobaccos properly, so with that in mind, the use of Seco, Viso, and Ligero tobaccos gives you a perfect balance of mild, medium, and strong tobaccos respectively, and draws flavor from all over the tobacco plant. So with that, I tip my hat to the blender. That person has a firm grasp on tobacco and has earned me as a true fan.”

Carnage cigars are available in four sizes — a 7 x 50 Churchill, a 6 x 60 Magnum, a 6 x 52 Toro, and a 5 x 54 Robusto. With Famous’ full box discount pricing, customers can enjoy this new offering with individual retail prices which range from $3.46 to $4.62 per cigar. People interested in learning more about Carnage cigars or Famous Smoke Shop should visit Famous-Smoke.com or call 800-564-2486.

Famous Smoke Shop Announces the Release of Their Newest Exclusive Cigar Immortal

Famous Smoke Shop Announces the Release of Their Newest Exclusive Cigar Immortal

 Famous Smoke Immortal

EASTON, PA–(Marketwired – July 23, 2015) – Famous Smoke Shop is a leading online distributor of discounted premium cigars. The company specializes in offering the web’s widest selection of cigars at the lowest prices. Famous has just released a new cigar line in collaboration with the esteemed Plasencia cigar company. Plasencia was formed under the watchful eye of Nestor Plasencia who is regarded as one of the world’s leading experts on tobacco and blending cigars. The new release is the highly anticipated Immortal Cigar, and they will be exclusively available at Famous Smoke Shop. The first shipment is on the way to the company’s warehouse and is currently available for pre-sale on their website. The company has expressed that the new brand will be available in limited quantities, but is not a one-time release and will be a consistent offering for the foreseeable future.

The Immortal Cigar is the first release under the new brand’s umbrella, with a new blend designed to provide sophisticated and complex flavors to satisfy every cigar smoker’s taste buds. This blend will be made in small batches and production on the brand will be limited.

Immortal cigars utilize a heavy hitting blend consisting of a complex mixture of all Nicaraguan tobaccos, from its mix of longfiller tobaccos, binder, and habano wrapper. But perhaps the real story lays in its utilization of all Ligero tobaccos in its core. The result of this blend is a full strength cigar with complex flavors, with a rich and slightly spicy flavor to round out a customer’s smoke. Already hailed as a home run under the Immortal name, it seems as if this cigar will soon take the industry by storm.

“Wow, is this ever a flavor bomb,” exclaimed Famous Smoke Shop editor and cigar reviewer Tommy Zarzecki. “I mean, I’ve smoked strong cigars in the past, but this one is close to taking the cake. The utilization of all ligero tobaccos is something that is rarely done in this industry because it’s typically so heavy. But the blender was able to find tobaccos from all over Nicaragua, more specifically the three main regions of Esteli, and the Condega and Jalapa Valleys, and combined them in a way where you get a strong cigar while allowing a true tobacco flavor shine through. It’s complex, it’s flavorful, and it’s strong. In my book, that’s the perfect recipe for a cigar that offers pure relaxation after a full meal or at the end of the day to help unwind.”

Immortal cigars are available in four sizes — a 7 x 50 Churchill, a 6 x 60 Magnum, a 6 x 52 Toro, and a 5 x 54 Robusto. With Famous’ full box discount pricing, customers can enjoy this new offering with individual retail prices which range from $2.60 to $3.12 per cigar. People interested in learning more about Immortal cigars or Famous Smoke Shop should visit Famous-Smoke.com or call 800-564-2486.

Cubanacan Cigars: Where They Are and Where They Are Going

Cubanacan Logo 2015

We at Cubanacan Cigars were surprised to find out from Greg Mottola of Cigar Aficionado that Friday afternoon, a week before our annual IPCPR tradeshow, that Hirochi Robaina and associates have new plans. We are very grateful to have had Hirochi Robaina grace us with his visits to the U.S and see firsthand the growth of an amazing project that our team has worked so hard to develop and honor his family legacy by presenting to U.S. cigar aficionado the opportunity to appreciate and fall in love with the HR brand.

Though we are all still in shock about Mr. Robaina’s decision, we are not surprised. Patience is a virtue and not simply the ability to wait, it’s how we behave while we’re waiting. Do not mistake our initial si- lence for acquiescence. We are deeply saddened that we even have to respond to actions that speak louder than words in the court of public opinion, and these actions do seem to be well planned and executed, having caused irreparable damage to our company.

While relations with the USA and Cuba have improved, let us not forget that an embargo is in place not just in goods and services but also for a US entity to employ or have any shared ownership with a Cuban national. We remained firm on this issue to never bend to any unreasonable demands. We have a substantial invested interest in the HR brand, a brand that we’ve manufactured and distributed to retailers across the nation and will continue to do so.

We are a small family run business with a great core group in sales and management who are endur- ing countless inquiries from all over. They are our rocks that maintain open dialogue with the hundreds of accounts they serve.
In the last day we have read statements given by the Gonzalez Aleman group about how they claim we have no factory and they have always made our cigars. Contrary to initial reports, history bears witness and no one will re-write our history as a company. We have been in factory operations since 2009, a full five years in operation before the Gonzalez Aléman family arrived and to insist that a new factory La Corona which was born not as such but as a expansion project we began in hopes to obtain a free zone status in late 2014. This project was based on the projections of company growth, and all of the paperwork for the process in Nicaragua was ENTRUSTED under the Gonzalez Aleman name to facilitate the process and later consolidate the raw material tobacco and relocate Cubanacan Cigars Factory S.A under one roof.

This process was completed in March 2015, and soon after some production of the Cubanacan brands, Soneros and HR was moved over while Cubanacan Cigars Factory S.A remained intact manu- facturing the Mederos brand and some of the Cubanacan Lines along with the rest of our secondary production business. In April 2015 some of our production that was moved over to the new location, we discovered, was being held hostage in an attempt to leverage the success of HR, thus explaining the difficulty we encountered maintaining domestic inventory for retailers. This was also done to make un- believable demands of ownership over both our businesses in the U.S and Nicaragua.

Trusting in a family that we believed had similar goals in a long term relationship was our flaw in this matter. Our kindness was taken for weakness. Our processes and production have stood firm and constant since we first opened our doors in 2009. In mid 2013, we welcomed and opened our doors to Omar Gonzalez Aléman to supervise our production and to utilize his expertise. In this arrangement we agreed to distribute his brand Soneros.

We hold dear the freedom of speech this nation grants us to have a voice, but along with it there are also consequences and we feel in this case these actions will have to be resolved not on the grounds of perception, confusion and internet fiction but on the grounds of facts presented through due process in a court of law. On behalf of the Mederos Family and Cubanacan Cigars we thank you all for the support received these past couple of days and look forward to seeing you soon at the IPCPR New Orleans

Sabor de Esteli by Noel Rojas

Sabor de Esteli by Noel Rojas

Sabor de Esteli cigar

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Size: Toro 6×52

Price: $8.50

Acquired: Samples courtesy of Emilio Cigar.

Looks: The Sabor de Esteli has medium colored brown Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf that has a nice oily sheen to it. The wrapper leaf has some medium veins running through it as well as some dark spots. The band of this cigar is large and elaborate. Trimmed in gold, the band features a woman in a large flowing white and purple dress dancing in front of a tobacco field. The band reads, “SABOR DE ESTELI” at the top and, “By Noel Rojas” at the bottom.

Pre-light: Earthy aroma and taste with some slight cedar notes.

Taste: The Sabor de Esteli is a cigar that is full of consistent flavor. Upon first lighting the cigar I am met with red pepper notes, nuttiness, and some cedar notes present. Notes of red and white pepper stay fairly consistent in the Sabor de Esteli with a presence on the sides of the tongue and lips throughout the smoke. An overall nuttiness is the most notable flavor in the cigar and is consistent and on point throughout the cigar. The wood cedar notes are subtle and are an almost background flavor to the nuttiness.

Strength: Medium to Light Full.

Burn: Fairly even overall only requiring one small touch up to keep it burning even at the beginning. Smoke was plentiful and white.

Buy it? The Sabor de Esteli proved to be a flavorful and consistent smoke, pair that with quality construction and you have a great cigar. I personally tend to favor cigars with less pepper notes, but I will say that the pepper notes in this cigar were not harsh or overbearing.  For me, this is a great after dinner smoke that would pair excellently with a nice scotch or whiskey. All that being said, I think this is a cigar I will always keep a handful of in my humidor. If you are a fan of strong pepper notes, this is definitely a cigar for you to try!

Drew Estate Unveils “Undercrown Shade”

Drew Estate Unveils “Undercrown Shade”

DE Undercrown Shade

Miami, FL – Drew Estate announced today that they would be launching a new line extension to their Undercrown line – “Undercrown Shade”, a Connecticut Shade- wrapped cigar brand that will join the original San Andres-wrapped line. The new “Undercrown Shade” brand will be displayed in Drew Estate’s booth (Booth #15407) at the 2015 IPCPR Tradeshow in New Orleans, Louisiana.

“Undercrown Shade” marks the first release blended by Drew Estate Master Blender Willy Herrera not to fall under the Herrera Estelí brand family. Herrera’s continued involvement in blending and brand development within Drew Estate is evident with this new blend, as Herrera worked extensively with the Undercrown roller team who blended the original Undercrown line to develop this new Connecticut blend.

When asked about the new cigar, Willy Herrera stated that, “since day one, Drew Estate has demonstrated that no premium cigar company better understands its team, and that the heart of the company is the production floor and factory. This is why I chose to work closely with the rollers responsible for the original Undercrown blend, and challenged them to create a Connecticut blend that would satisfy my palate. It was a long road, taking more than a year to develop. In the end, it was a very rewarding process, as finding a Connecticut blend to fit my palate wasn’t easy. We finally found a marriage of Drew Estate’s unique tobaccos that we believe is really special, and we’re excited to share the new blend with everyone at the IPCPR show.”

Featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Sumatran binder, as well as Dominican Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Criollo & Corojo fillers, the new “Undercrown Shade” line will be presented in six vitolas, mirroring the San Andres-wrapped Undercrown core line that you’ve come to love. These sizes include a Belicoso (6 x 52, MSRP $9.00), Corona Doble (7 x 54, MSRP $9.50), Corona (5 5/8 x 46, MSRP $7.50), Gordito (6 x 60, MSRP $9.95), Gran Toro (6 x 52, MSRP $8.25), and Robusto (5 x 54, MSRP $7.75). The new Undercrown Shade will be available in 25-count boxes and most sizes will begin shipping to stores in Fall 2015.

The final blend is medium-bodied, lush & ultra-smooth, flavors that only a shade grown wrapper can deliver. And so it is with great bravado that we share “Undercrown Shade”, and the continuing story from our factory floor.
